St. Patty's Day

Hey everyone... first off I wanted to wish everyone a happy belated St. Patrick's Day! Being what I like to call "Irish by injection," we had corned beef, cabbage, carrots, & potatoes. YUM! I only made the one Stamping Bella card (which can be seen in a previous post) and sent out a few, but this was a first for me. I'm not usually organized enough to make/mail them. I'm too busy working on Easter, Mother's Day & Father's Day. I'm ahead of the game this year though... woooo hoooo!!! Getting back to the corned beef... yesterday, Lucinda Scala Quinn from MadHungry, had on an uncorned beef that looked totally YUMMY! I so can't wait to give it a try. No boiling. It was coated with the spices that she turned into a paste using the food processor. Then, with the leftovers, she make a faux rueben sandwich. Looked too darn good!

Ed & I had our eyes examined this morning. Good grief, I desperately needed reading glasses. The arm broke off mine about 2 weeks ago; they were 10 years old so how could I complain? You'd be surprised how hard it is to keep them balanced on your nose with only the one arm keeping it steady.... It was Ed's first ever eye exam and I don't think he liked it. I can only imagine if he had to go through what we do between the annual GYN exam and then that *wonderful* mammogram! Pass out, I'm guessing! lol So, Ed ended up needed bifocals, mostly for the close up and mid range of your sight. His distance is still in good shape, except for right this minute because his pupils are dialated. Qui, qui, qui (first syllable in quiet). hehe I'm tough, huh? Nope, no sympathy coming from this baby... Sorry Charlie! Oh yeah... I got the cutest little glasses; I went with burgandy metal frames. Have never had an actual color in all the years I've been wearing glasses. Can't wait!!

I came across these two cards I made at Christmastime that I never posted. Hope you enjoy them!

Oh Happy Day... I Mean Night!!

I'm so totally excited!! My laptop is back! I can hardly stand myself. Although now is the long hard process of reinstalling everything... not liking that part so much. I'm sooooo happy! Doing the happy dance too! Just had to share this with anyone who knows what it's like to be without your laptop. I have a desktop, but it's so uncomfortable for me to sit in that chair because of my back. The only time I use that computer is when I have to print coupons for Hobby Lobby, Michaels, or ACMoore. Notice I wrote have to. lol Like someone is twisting my arm adn making me shop. HA!

Anyway, as soon as I get my pics back on this computer, I will have more cards to share. My plan is to also share some organizational tips and pics of how I organize the stuff in my room. My room is hideously messy because I'm always working on several projects at a time. I'm also getting ready to move my craft room to a bigger bedroom and will be organizing things just a bit differently based on having more room. Yeah!!! Cannot wait... soooo cannot wait! I promise to show my mess as well as the neatness lest any of you think I'm perfect! :-)

Have a great weekend and...

Happy stamping til the next time.

More Easter Cards

I feel like I'll never finish all the projects in my project pile! Most of what I'm working on is stuff I've prestamped within the last couple years and just haven't gotten back to it. There's an upside and a downside to that. The upside being that you already have the stamped image and don't have to cut up the paper or pull out the different inks. The downside is that once you finally get to the project, you've forgotten what you were going to do with it! Not to mention that by the time I get to it, I would have preferred for it to have been cut differently. Oh well... I had a lot of fun doing these two cards. First off, I LOVE DeNami and Elzybells chick stamps. They are too stinkin' cute!

Time to go plant some herbs, lettuce, & beans. I'm so looking forward to nice warm weather so I can go outside and get my hands in the dirt. Did a lot of work last summer on compost piles. Hopefully this will help my garden grow better because last year was positively horrible! For all the work I did, I practically had nothing to show for it. I'm thinking positive though... this year will be a great garden year!

Happy stamping til the next time!

St. Patty's Day Card

Thought I would share a card I just finished this morning. Showed it to hubby and his only comment was "what's with the red hair?" So I guess he didn't like it as much as he usually likes my cards! :-) It took me awhile to make it because I knew what I wanted to do, but just couldn't pull the colors together. I wish I hadn't cut my paper after I stamped because I would have used my Spellbinders dies. I've also come to realize that I desperately need the petites for the scalloped square/ovals and the regular ovals. It's that darn little bit more room I need! I'm trying not to spend money so I'll just have to "suffer" with what I have, which is so totally funny if you saw my craft room!!

Stamps - Stamping Bella Goodluckabella
C/S - misc cardstock & pp
Ink/Markers - Memento tuxedo black, Copics

More cards coming your way soon....

Happy stamping til the next time!

101 Things I Love

I got the idea to do this from a friend on Facebook. At first I thought, how am I going to come up with that many things? Well, you'd be surprised that it's not that hard... so far, I've come up with over 50 things. When I come up with more, I'll make a new post with the additions. Here they are in no particular order...

♥ Ed (hubby) ♥ my family ♥ love ♥ hanging laundry outside ♥ summertime ♥ lemony desserts ♥ music ♥ fairies ♥ a really good sale ♥ ladybugs ♥ Mom visits ♥ stamping ♥ my house ♥ Thanksgiving ♥ vacation walks on the beach after dinner ♥ cooking ♥ purple & pink (even though I'm an earthtones gal) ♥ taking pictures ♥ my craft room ♥ the smell in the air before it snows ♥ reading ♥ Brighton ♥ friends ♥ Tab & Coke Zero ♥ family dinners & the crazy conversations that go on ♥ chocolate ♥ my boots (3 pairs) ♥ being creative everyday ♥ Hilton Head ♥ magazines ♥ sister time ♥ cool mornings ♥ Turkey Hill ice cream (Death By Chocolate the best!!) ♥ Soma lingerie ♥ hummingbirds ♥ my garden ♥ BE & MAC (double love) ♥ holding hands ♥ lunch out with girlfriends ♥ Copic markers ♥ soaking up the sun while relaxing on the deck ♥ teaching classes ♥ Teavana ♥ my birthday week (yes WEEK) ♥ slow drives in the country... so I can take more pictures ♥ Michael Parkes art ♥ crocheting ♥ anything paranormal ♥ shopping, even if I don't buy ♥ going to the movies in a stadium-style theater (AMC Theaters) ♥ snuggling ♥ Red Robin's chocolate malt milkshake ♥ the leaves turning in fall ♥ sweet potatoes ♥ my Kindle ♥ books (even though I have the Kindle) ♥ snow covered trees ♥ hot chocolate ♥ Starbucks mugs ♥ candlelight ♥ watching tv (I'm a tv-aholic) ♥ daisies ♥ dressing up ♥ salad making with Holly (daughter-in-law, it's a process!) ♥ Ed's cooking ♥ road trips ♥ Belgium white chocolate macadamia creamer in my coffee ♥ fireworks ♥

I counted them up and it's a whopping 67 things I came up with in a fairly short period of time. I've never made a list like this and can't say I've ever consciously thought about the subject. So... what do you love and how many things can you come up with?

Til the next time...

Twisted Valentines Day Card

So... my neighbor and I were stamping a bunch of cards from our stamp club that we hadn't gotten to finish during club. One of the cards was for Valentines day. Well, she proceeded to tell me about a good friend of hers who wanted to give her hubby a card that said "I f 'ing love you". I had no idea how we were going to accomplish this, but while I was working on my card, I started to cut apart the letters that spelled love. Next, I was turning them upside down and playing with them to see if I could get the letters we needed to pull this off. Well, never let it be said that SHEER determination will not eventally get you exactly what you need.

The stamps and papers are all SU!, but the love and little hearts are actually from a Martha Stewart punch that came out last year.  Here's the creation:

This was the front of the card. Looks very innocuous. Cute with lots of love and hearts and hugs and kisses... la la la la la

then... scroll down some more...

When you open the card, this is what you see. Because I couldn't get an "ing" out of the word love, we decided that we would just go with the letter "n." So, it reads,"i fn' love u" which is exactly what her friend wanted. What made us laugh our butts off doing this, was that we got everything from the word love! It's amazing what you can do with the little you have! lol The "f" came from the "l" turned right side up and then another "l" turned upside down to form a cursive style "f." The "n" and "u" are the "v"  in love. Hey, I did the best I could! It was a total scream!

Hope you enjoyed our "twisted" Valentines humor...

Happy stamping till the next time.

Changed My Mind

Last week (Friday?) I posted a bunny card with a cute little saying that read something like this: "it's good to have a friend who's all ears". Well, the more I looked at the pic, the more I wanted it to be an Easter card. I literally became fixated with the card, which isn't good because I have SOOOOO much to do! Anyhoo, I plain ole changed my mind. I stamped another sentiment, used a different punch and it all covered up the cute saying I just didn't want anymore. Gosh, that sounds mean... So, to the right is the card with the saying I actualy like better because it makes me feel like I made Easter cards.

Below is an Easter card I made using one of the SU! stamp sets that was out last year in a mini catalog. I got to use that nice wide ribbon too; never thought that would happen! All in all I am very happy with it. The Happy Easter stamp is Memory Box. I also stamped a sentiment inside; I think that was from PrintWorks, but I'll find out for sure.

Hope you liked these cards. Tomorrow I have a "twisted" Valentines Day card to share that my stamping neighbor and I came up with for a girlfriend of hers to give to her hubby. It truly was TWISTED!!

Happy stamping till the next time!
